When Jeep announced the Jeep Avenger, its first electric car, it was a surprise and, moreover, a new competitor for a not excessively broad segment. However, when he subsequently announced that it was also going to have a gasoline version and that its price would be less than 30,000 euros, he filled it in one of the most competitive markets.
And it is that the segment of the C SUV has representatives of practically all the brands (in this case, of the generalists), among them authentic heavyweights such as the Hyundai Tucson, which is the best-selling car in Spain by far, the Volkswagen T-Roc or the Toyota C-HR, among others.
Now, do you have what it takes to threaten your strongest rivals?
The main point in its favor is the fact that, within the general SUV C segment, there is no other model that offers combustion and fully electric versions. None. Yes, there are a multitude of electrification options, but not with this particular combo.
The Jeep is available with a 100 hp 1.2 engine, a small engine but it complies as an access version. In addition, it will also arrive in the form of zero emissions with an alternative of 156 CV, with a battery whose capacity has not been revealed, but which will give it a range of about 400 kilometers.
Another interesting point is its prices, and that is that gasoline is available from 25,900 euros, although as it is a special launch version, it is logical that there are even cheaper variants. In addition, the electric starts at 39,500 euros, but can lower its rate to 32,500 thanks to the aid of the MOVES Plan.
Now, despite the fact that its duo of mechanics is unique in the market at the moment, the fact that it is a very, very limited range of engines cannot be overlooked. Having only two options seems scarce no matter where you look, and it cannot compete in that aspect with other alternatives already established in the market.
It is quite likely that other engines will be announced in the coming months, which would help round out its candidacy and position itself as a serious threat to the kings of the segment.
