The income tax campaign has already passed its midpoint and, despite this, not all taxpayers have made the relevant declaration. The OCU, aware of the situation, has been clear about it: it is not a good idea to leave it until the last minute. We tell you all the details.
More than a third of our country’s taxpayers have already filed the statement of income. In those cases in which it went out to return, a large number of transfers have already been processed to their respective owners. However, there are still many people who, being obliged to make the pertinent declaration, have not filed the Income 2023.
The OCU is clear about this: the organization’s advice is that we do not leave the presentation until the last minute. The reasons can be very diverse: from a last minute cancellation of the face-to-face appointment for any unforeseen event or any technical incident that may cause us to not be able to present it online at a specific time. And, as a consequence, we are exposed to a penalty for having submitted the declaration after the deadline.
More than 68% of taxpayers have already received the refund
According to the data that the Tax Agency itself has, and that the OCU collects on its website, during the current year, just over 23 million declarations will be submitted. Of all of them, 63% will have the result to be returned. During the first third of this campaign, there were some more than 8 million statements. Of all of them, more than 6 and a half million had the result to be returned.
Most taxpayers who had to receive income from the Treasury have already seen the money in their account. Specifically, 68.5% of them. It is worth taking into account that if we exceed the scheduled date For having left the presentation of the declaration until the last day, we will have to pay a penalty whether the result is negative or positive. So the best thing we can do is follow the advice of the OCU and submit the tax return sufficiently in advance so as not to be susceptible to receiving a penalty.
Two key dates
July 1 is the last day on which we are allowed to file the Income Tax return. The organization recommends submitting it before this date because if it is returned, we will probably receive payment of our money within approximately two weeks from the presentation, so we will be able to advance the payment. Furthermore, in the event that we do not have to pay, we will not have to advance any payment. This will always be done on July 1, regardless of when we present the Income Tax return.
However, in the event that We want to domiciliate the payment, The last date on which we can carry out the presentation is June 26. Until that day, the payment option that appears by default, as the OCU reminds, It is in two installments. If we do not want to split it, we can also pay it in a single installment on July 1. However, if we present the declaration after June 26, we will no longer be able to direct the payment. We must do the same as a step prior to submitting the declaration.
