We had already seen it during its development, having been “hunted” on occasion. Well, the version with a more asphalt orientation of the Royal Enfield Himalayan 411, surnamed Scram, is already on sale at dealers in India, as we have learned from one of the best-known websites in that country Rushlane.
The differences between the already known adventure version, and the new one, are not important in terms of cycle and engine. In fact, chassis and suspension are identical. Only the diameter of the front rim changes, which goes from 21” to 19”, and the tires, which will have a mixed philosophy.
Braking is the same, with a 300mm diameter front disc gripped by a two-piston caliper, and a 240mm rear disc. Without a doubt its most “weak” point if you make a happy driving.
In the case of the Himalayan Scram 411, which surely defends itself very well in off-road driving, the ABS will not be deactivatable, as it happens in the latest revision of the standard Himalayam 411.
same engine
The engine of the new Royal Enfield Himalayan Scram 411 is exactly the same as the motorcycle from which it derives. It is a single-cylinder air-cooled single-shaft, with 2 valves, and a declared maximum power of 24.3 CV at 6,500 rpm. The maximum torque is 32Nm at 4,250 rpm.
Aesthetically, the fork bellows are maintained (although the upper fender disappears), the fuel tank, the mirrors and the round headlight. It incorporates a new tulip and the windshield disappears.
In the rear part the carrier also disappears, to make way for a handle for the passenger; while the seat is in one piece, instead of two.
Surely it will be imported to Spain… perhaps after the summer. We will know soon!
