The new Aston Martin DBX 707 takes on the Lamborghini Urus in a thrilling drag race and braking test. Which SUV will be the winner?

Now that there are powerful sports SUVs with more than 600 HP of power, it is inevitable to face them in a drag race to find out which is the fastest. In today’s video, Carwow offers us this interesting drag race between two of the most powerful and fastest SUVs in the world, the new Aston Martin DBX 707 and the Lamborghini Urus.

These two models are speedsters with outputs well over 600 hp and huge eight-cylinder engines resting under the hood. They are also vehicles with a family approach in that they can travel five passengers and offer, in the best of cases, up to 620 liters of volumetric capacity in the trunk.

But let’s get to the really important thing, its specifications. Starting with the new Aston Martin DBX 707, the most radical version of the British SUV is equipped with a 4.0-liter V8 biturbo engine of Mercedes-AMG origin that develops a power of 707 hp and a maximum torque of 900 Nm.

Power is sent to the road through a nine-speed torque converter automatic transmission and an all-wheel drive system. The result, for a car of 2,245 kilos, is a 0 to 100 km/h in 3.3 seconds and a top speed of 310 km/h.

Meanwhile, his rival in this drag race is the Lamborghini Urus. We are talking about a vehicle equipped with a 4.0-liter V8 biturbo engine that develops a power of 650 hp and a maximum torque of 850 Nm, which leaves a small step behind the Sant’Agata Bolognese SUV.

Despite this, it is equipped with an eight-speed automatic transmission with a torque converter and an all-wheel drive system. This mechanical configuration allows the Urus to go from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.6 seconds and reach a top speed of 305 km/h. As for the weight, the balance stops at 2,220 kilos, so the difference is minimal.
