Series have completely changed the paradigm of daily television consumption. There are those who spend most of their free time watching content on streaming platforms, when before the way of entertaining themselves was completely different. It seems that stories about real crimes exceed the catalog of digital applications, but, even so, the new Netflix production is guaranteed to be successful. And if the first parts work, why not bet on the sequels?

The digital age has taken a giant leap forward in recent years, providing us with new ways to watch television through the use of streaming tools, and there are increasingly more alternatives to choose from. Sitting on the sofa, picking up the remote, entering the application and selecting the film or series that interests you is one of the most common habits of the 21st century.

Netflix has been home to all kinds of productions that have hooked millions of viewers around the world. The OTT with the largest number of users surprises every week with several new releases, one of which will be on everyone’s lips and will become a trend. In fact, there is already an addictive series that has just landed with great aspirations of being the new hit of the big N.

Dahmer’s sequel with Spanish representation

One of the most anticipated series of this year is now available on Netflix, after triggering a resounding success with the arrival of Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, which garnered astronomical figures during its first few weeks, placing it as the third most-watched series in the history of the platform, with more than a billion hours watched.

The next story, about a new episode of disordered minds and ruthless murders based on real events, is directed by the same director, Ryan Murphy, world-renowned for the creation of the American Horror Story series. On this occasion, Monsters: The Story of Lyle and Erik Menendez has already entered the list of the top 10 Netflix series, ranking second and is expected to reach first place very soon.

If you’ve already seen any of the episodes, you’ve probably heard of some of the faces of the characters that appear in the series. That’s right, you’ve hit the nail on the head. Javier Bardem plays José, the father of the two boys, with a great performance. The Spanish actor will be accompanied by Chlöe Sevigny, who plays Kitty, the mother, along with Nicholas Chávez and Cooper Koch, who round out the cast of main characters, with the roles of Lyle and Erik Menéndez, the sons.

The case that questions who the real monsters were

To give you some background, Lyle and Erik are two brothers who claim to have been abused by their parents. Due to the psychological damage they suffered, this situation pushed them to the limit and they did not hesitate to hatch a plan to kill them and thus end their abuse. The events took place in August 1989, but they were not prosecuted for first-degree murder until 1996, when they confessed to their crime. They were sentenced to spend the rest of their lives in prison.

However, there are those who think that this incident had a downside, and could have been caused in self-defense, in order to end the fear that the parents’ actions caused them when they were subjected to physical and emotional abuse.

Now it’s your turn to discuss one of the most chilling cases that have occurred in recent decades.
