Streaming applications are one of the greatest entertainments in recent years and this has been demonstrated in services such as Netflix or HBO Max, which include a large catalog of exclusive series and movies, but also from third parties. However, they not only serve to offer us all types of audiovisual content but also to obtain valuable information about our Smart TV and check its specifications. We tell you how to do it.
If you are a Netflix, HBO Max or Apple TV+ subscriber, you have to know one of the most practical tricks to know which version of television you have purchased and which is the latest system update you have received. It is a good way to check all this technical information in case you are ever asked to take your Smart TV for repair or make any type of query online. You will only have to follow a series of very simple steps that will take you to this section.
How to check the specifications of my Smart TV
First of all, the most traditional way to examine all your Smart TV settings is through the settings of the television itself. However, it will always depend on the model we have, but normally the procedure is the same regardless of the Smart TV you have purchased. Here, we will enter the Settings, System or General, TV Information or Devices menu, and we will obtain all the features.
In this way, we can see the device name, serial number, operating system version, ESN or electronic serial number, MAC address (wired or wireless) or internal storage, among others.
Likewise, if we do not find the exact route in the menu of our Smart TV, it is important to know that the streaming applications to which we are subscribed can also provide us with practically all the technical specifications, in case at some point we want to know them, without the need to having to use the television menu.
- On Netflix
Netflix is, today, the streaming platform with the highest number of subscribers (220 million worldwide) and the undisputed leader in Spain, within the online viewing category. In addition to promoting authentic hits of its own production, such as Stranger Things, La Casa de Papel, Narcos or The Squid Game, among many others, it is capable of showing us the information on our TV.
We just have to go to the panel on the left to open the pop-up menu and select the Get help section located at the bottom of the screen. Then, you will have to click on Device and there you will see the entire list of specifications of our Smart TV, such as the model, software version and ESN.
- On HBO Max
HBO Max has also acquired high popularity around the world, although in Spain the number of subscribers is behind other video tools, such as Disney+ and Amazon Prime Video.
In order to view the technical components of our Smart TV, we have to slide to the context menu on the left and choose Settings. Next, we will move to the Info tab to review the Smart TV model, device name, serial number and operating system version.
- On Apple TV+
Another application that you can use to compare the information on your Smart TV is Apple TV+. Although it has very little impact, it is essential to find out the ins and outs of our televisions.
To do this, we use the same mechanics on previous occasions. We display the pop-up menu on the left and select Settings. Then we go to About and take a look at all the details of our Smart TV: model, firmware version, operating system information, region and network type.
