It’s basketball time! If what you like is basketball and, especially, the NBA, you are in luck. The NBA Draft, one of the key moments in the basketball season on American courts, will take place starting tomorrow. It will be two days and, so you don’t miss any details, Movistar Plus+ will broadcast it live.
If you like the NBA as much as we do, you will know that the Draft is an essential moment, since it opens the way to the future of the competition. The future of many players and also the future entertainment of the fans will be in the choices made by the different teams, since these next stars could become true legends.
The first day at Movistar Plus+
The operator’s television service, available for a monthly subscription of 9.99 euros in its standard version, is all you need to be able to watch the bulk of the Draft. As you already know, this year the NBA has decided to revolutionize the organization of the Draft and divide it into two days. The first of them is the classic and main one, which will take place at the iconic Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
It will take place at 02:00 Spanish time in the early hours of June 26 to 27, and will be broadcast on the Vamos channel of the Movistar service. From what we see in the channel’s programming, the broadcast is scheduled to last until 05:00. As they say with NBA basketball, sleeping is for sissies! Following tradition, we will have a very exciting day in which we will see what movements some of the best-known basketball teams in the world perform.
The order of the teams to participate in the draft will begin with the Atlanta Hawks in first place and will extend until, finally, the Boston Celtics close the day. All teams will have opportunities to voice their aspirations and present their picks for the season.
Although until the moment of the draft it will be impossible to know what the teams’ plans are, there are some decisions that are quite logical. For example, it is more than likely that the Hawks will take advantage of that first spot in the draft to acquire the support of the young Frenchman Zaccharie Risacher. Two other ideal options would be Alex Sarr and Reed Sheppard, but the latter only for a team that is desperately looking for a top marksman. Other teams want more balanced players, which will benefit players like Cody Williams, Devin Carter and Nikola Topic. Anyway, as you can see, there are so many names that can shine in the draft that the mystery is still in the air.
A second day to finish
Although Movistar Plus+ does not seem to be broadcasting the second day of the draft, we will have the opportunity to watch the event through the NBA League Pass service. It must be said that, as a curiosity, in other countries Disney+ will be in charge of broadcasting the two rounds of the draft, which demonstrates the interest of streaming services in making their way into live sports.
If you are also going to watch the second round, you should know that the time will be different, since it will not start at 2:00 a.m., but at 10:00 p.m. The NBA League Pass service can be contracted on a monthly basis, although you may not be interested in getting it just for the end of the draft. As an alternative, the best thing ends up being that you turn to social networks, where you can clearly see who the chosen ones are. On the second day of the draft, the team that will start choosing will be the Toronto Raptors and the Dallas Mavericks will finish.
