Pastrana has debuted in the Nitro RX a car with a snow camouflage livery, similar to what the 2005 Subaru STI had.
This weekend the second season of Nitro RX, an American rallycross racing series created in 2021 by Travis Pastrana, took place in Quebec. On this occasion, the American driver has paid tribute to the late (and friend) Ken Block with a car inspired by the 2005 Subaru STI.
Both drivers got their start in rallycross in 2005 and were teammates, working with Vermont SportsCar. VSC built the Subaru STIs used by Pastrana and Block that year, both for rally racing and the Gumball 3000. That car sported a snow camo livery that VSC says was Ken Block’s own idea.
Now, Travis Pastrana has wanted to pay tribute to Ken Block by sporting a similar livery on his car for the 2023 Nitro RX, with the initials of the driver who died earlier this year in a snowmobile accident.

“It was a print that originated somewhere in the DC Shoes snowboarding business and Ken thought it would look great on a car. It was impressive,” the company states on its Facebook page. Travis Pastrana himself mentioned the livery on his Instagram page and even shared a short video of the car undergoing training.
The DC Shoes logos disappear in this new decoration in favor of gold ‘KB’ as a further nod to Block. It is not known if the Group E car will keep this decoration for the rest of the season or if it has only been for this event held in Quebec.
The race, which marks the seventh test of the season, started last Friday and concludes today at noon. In Spain you can follow it on DAZN.
