Mercedes best seller.
This is the new Mercedes GLC 2022, but somehow we already knew it. And it is that Mercedes has wanted to be continuous and cautious with its middle-class SUV, and the reason is in the registration figures. The GLC is a bestseller within the brand, at least in Germany: it currently makes up 15% of total Mercedes sales in that country. The design is therefore an evolution rather than a revolution.
Now it measures six centimeters more, up to 4.72. The extra length is shared by the battle, with three centimeters more, and the trunk, which now swallows 600 liters, 50 more than the previous one. And it seems that Mercedes has taken notice of BMW: under the load floor, there is now an extra compartment for the charging cable. In the diesel and gasoline plug-in hybrids, the capacity changes a bit: it measures 463 liters because the batteries have become much larger and are now 31.2 kWh. This is a small revolution.
At its launch in September there will be three four-cylinder engines and 48-volt support, mated to an all-wheel drive. The GLC 200 produces 204 hp, and the 300, 258 horsepower. As a diesel, the 220d produces 197 hp. Three plug-in variants will arrive in December, which will supposedly be able to travel more than 100 kilometers only in electric mode: that is what the large battery that penalizes the trunk provides.
The GLC 300e yields 313 hp, the GLC 400e reaches 381 hp. Pata those who travel many kilometers will be interested in the PHEV diesel, which only Mercedes sells.
