The Tesla Model S Plaid sweeps the Porsche Taycan at the Nürburgring… Watch its onboard lap. Since 2019 Tesla and Porsche have been competing on the German circuit for having the fastest electric. Now Tesla wins again with his Model S, completing a lap in record time thanks to the performance of his Tesla Model S in Plaid version.
About four years ago Porsche signed the best time on the circuit. Then Tesla woke up as if it were the sleeping giant, and within two years he brought a new production version of the Model S to the Nurburgring track. It was the Plaid, and with it he broke the Porsche record with a fast lap of 7:35.579.
But the German machinery was quick to respond, and in 2022 the Taycan Turbo S managed to stop the clock in 7:33.35. The model featured a new Performance kit, with 21-inch RS Spyder wheels and Taycan-specific Pirelli P Zero Corsa tires.
Tesla’s response has not been long in coming, and here we have it. The brand has returned to the circuit to achieve a time of 7:25.231 and thus recover the lost throne. With this time “it has slipped” nothing less than a difference of 8 seconds to the Porsche.
