And Maserati wanted to give it its own personality. He has molded it in a somewhat different way, it seems that the designer was inspired even more than with the coupe. Among other things, giving it an extremely prominent shoulder line at the rear, and three centimeters more height, it reminds me of a bodybuilder: shoulder muscles, those of the trapezius… All with powerful shapes, and I have to say that I love.
The aerodynamic elements that Maserati has implemented are also important, in keeping with its potential as a supercar: it has a V6 with 630 hp and 740 Nm of torque, all on the rear axle. On the one hand, it has the air intakes for the engine, and on the other hand, the air also comes out here, so that, together with the rear spoiler, it provides a ground effect of 100 extra kilos from 100 km /h. An impressive value in cars.
And here we have what, in my opinion, is the most beautiful rear of a sports car. Powerful, with two air outlets and two exhaust outlets, which are real sound boxes. And no artificial sound, but totally natural, direct from the six-cylinder turbos. In short, an extremely accomplished car that is also a devilishly expensive driving machine. And in addition, Maserati has also achieved that the spyder has scissor doors, as in the coupé. Awesome.
Two more things that I wanted to show you about the brother of the Maserati GranTurismo. To begin with, how does the machine sound? And on the other hand the roof, which closes in just 12 seconds up to a speed of 50 km/h. But the best comes when it is closed: the roof is made of PDLC, that is, glass that you can darken or make transparent. And just by pressing the screen: transparent, dark. But what we really want in this car is to open the roof… and go.
