More than 400,000 users will lose their Internet connection in less than three weeks. A reality that we have been talking about for years, but that will become official when Telefónica completely turns off its ADSL. If you are one of the customers who are going to be left without this way to enjoy Internet at home, there are other alternatives with which you can continue having a connection in your home.
Although the number has reduced over the months, there is still a percentage of homes in our country that depend on ADSL. So it is necessary to upgrade to another technology if you still want to have Internet.
To do this, it is important to know what the different alternatives are available today, since there are several options to choose from. And you can leave the connection through ADSL behind to move on to better technology that offers greater speed.

Among the options available to have Internet in rural areas where fiber or other types of connections do not reach, the alternative of satellite Internet is one of the most appropriate. You can opt for one of the rates from different companies that fall within the Government plan by offering 100 Mbps for 35 euros per month.
However, it is not the only option. You can also contract Starlink. Elon Musk’s company has become cheaper in Spain in recent months. Another possibility that can be used, as long as you have coverage in the area where you live, is to contract a 4G or 5G rate for the home. There are different operators that offer this type of plans with a mobile network to bring you Internet to your home.
You can find companies like Orange, Vodafone, Euskaltel, R or Telecable. So there are several offers that usually start at €30 and offer speeds from 100 Mbps. In this case, it will depend on where you live and, above all, if this mobile coverage arrives.

There is also the possibility of switching from ADSL to a radio Internet connection. This is where another type of technology known as WiMAX comes into play. And there are several companies that market rates under this type of connection, designed especially for rural areas where fiber is not available or 5G rates for the home cannot be purchased.
Basically, this option is based on the transmission of the Internet via radio waves. But, to enjoy this connection, the truth is that it is necessary to install a receiving antenna in the home so that it receives the signal from a network station of the company that markets this type of connection.
In this case, you can find operators such as Jetnet, Netllar or Eurona, as well as Movistar with its Internet Radio plan that offers up to 20 Mbps through 3G/4G when fiber cannot be contracted due to no coverage.
