The film catalog of streaming platforms is very important for users. On this occasion, GECA launches its latest advance on the OTT Cinema Barometer with which the best-rated film catalogs are revealed from February to April.
Every month, OTTs release new content with the aim of continuing to excite their subscribers, in addition to continuing to gain new users over time. However, not all catalogs are the same and they do not like the same things. For example, among streaming platforms there are two that have the best score: Netflix and Disney+. And, as an extra, there is another service that surprises.
Netflix and Disney+ ahead of the rest
There are times when the same content can be found on several platforms, although, with this latest GECA report, the aim is to see which OTT platforms are most popular due to their catalogue. In this case, cinema. And the most curious thing of all is that there are two that are above the rest.
During the month of February until April 2024, Disney+ and Netflix have placed themselves above the rest of the streaming platforms. They achieve the best score in terms of quality of content that subscribers have found throughout these months. On the part of Disney’s OTT, the streaming platform achieves up to a 30.6% satisfaction rate in terms of quality (within the ‘Excellent’ category). In the case of Netflix, it gets up to 27.4%.
With this result, it can be seen that Prime Video, Max (which was still HBO Max), Movistar Plus+ or SkyShowtime were left behind these platforms. The surprise of these months is that Filmin surpassed all these OTTs within the ‘Excellent’ score. Therefore, with this report you can see which are the best-rated catalogs in terms of cinema. In any case, 7 out of 10 users rate the Netflix and Disney+ film catalogs as good or excellent in terms of content quality. So once again they are the favorite OTT in this section of subscribers.
And as for the most viewed films within these streaming platforms, in first place is Netflix’s ‘The Snow Society’, with 27.5% of the total audience. Already in second position is Barbie and to finish the top 3, ‘Dune Part 1’, both Max titles.
What platform do you lead overall?
According to the latest GECA OTT Barometer report, Prime Video continues to lead with 69.9% compared to the rest of OTT in Spain. In addition, to the surprise of many users, it obtains its third best historical data. And, on the other hand, it can be seen that HBO Max (now known as Max since May 21) grew the most until last April, reaching a 31.4% share in steaming. An important moment that also coincides with its integration into the Movistar Plus+ Total Fiction packages. As for the rest of the streaming services, such as Netflix, SkyShowtime or Movistar Plus+, they also have positive results.
