This is not the first time we have talked about how LaLiga uses resources to put an end to pirated football. So far, it is true that they have been able, to a certain extent, to reduce piracy a lot, but there are still options. In fact, this is what has pushed them to use a new tool, a new bullet, to definitively put an end to this problem. We are going to explain exactly what it consists of.

What they seek is simply to make it difficult, or impossible, to pirate football matches. It is not a new problem, far from it. In fact, Javier Tebas, president of LaLiga, has already said on many occasions that his intention is to put an end to any possibility of watching pirated football.

Union of LaLiga and United Arab Emirates

But what exactly is this new initiative? It is an anti-piracy laboratory created by LaLiga, in collaboration with the United Arab Emirates. They seek to attack pirate websites that allow you to watch free football, as well as IPTV devices. This coalition seeks to work to block any page that threatens their interests and to intervene in domains.

What LaLiga has done is to partner with local Emirati authorities to try to eradicate pirated football. However, for the moment they have not indicated exact details of what these measures will consist of. They are only going to use this tool, this collaboration with this anti-piracy laboratory, to prevent illegal sports broadcasts.

It should be noted that LaLiga has had an office in the United Arab Emirates for 10 years, so they have already worked together on similar issues. Spanish football is very present in this Middle Eastern country, with many fans paying for television platforms that allow them to follow their favourite teams every week.

We will have to wait to see if this anti-piracy laboratory is really successful and to what extent it is capable of stopping piracy of sporting events, both in the United Arab Emirates, Spain or any other country. At the moment, there is not much more information related to specific steps.

Recent steps

Beyond this novelty that we have mentioned, LaLiga has already taken steps recently to end piracy. One of them was when they asked to remove Nodito, an open source software available on GitHub. It is an application that they could use to hack football and they managed to get it removed from the servers.

There have also been threats to consumers of pirated sporting events, to whom they have indicated that they will send letters with possible sanctions. It is clear that LaLiga has taken ending piracy very seriously in recent years and they continually take steps to achieve this, to at least make this task more difficult.

In short, LaLiga takes another step to put an end to pirate football. In this case, it is what they have called an anti-piracy laboratory. They have created it together with the United Arab Emirates and the objective is none other than to block the pages and platforms that can broadcast in Streaming fraudulently. One more measure to put an end to the piracy of sporting events.
