Summer has already begun and Movistar Plus+ has what, according to the platform, will be the sportiest summer in history. And it cannot be said that the operator is exaggerating, since the list of sports and events that we will be able to access is immense. All of this is included with the subscription to the service, which is available at a monthly price of 9.99 euros.
Football, tennis, golf, rugby and… the Olympic Games. All of this awaits us in the coming months, to which we are also going to have to add that, in September, the NFL will return and it will also be the time to launch the new UEFA Champions League.
More football than you imagine
To start, the Copa América has already started and is included in its entirety on Movistar Plus+. We have plenty of spectacle, since until July 14 there will be moments of glory in which teams like Argentina and Brazil are expected to give a huge game. It is the equivalent of the Euro Cup, but in America, and its schedules are ideal to have a dose of football at a time other than the competition matches in which Spain participates. If you have the opportunity to score a double, you will not have problems watching football day and night.
But be careful, not all football is international. Tomorrow, June 23, you can see the playoff final on Movistar Plus+ in which it will be determined whether Espanyol or Real Oviedo will be promoted to First Division. It is a critical situation for both teams, since it will mean leaving LaLiga Hypermotion and recovering the gold category in which both teams have great experience.
Next week, on July 27, we will have the first match of the Soccer Champions Tour, in which five of the biggest teams in Europe will do a pre-season of the Champions League. There will be a multitude of interesting matches, but the one that will get people talking will be the one between Real Madrid and Fútbol Club Barcelona on August 3. It will be a classic on American soil!
And be careful, because both LaLiga EA Sport and LaLiga Hypermotion return between August 16-17. Then, on the 17th, the new UEFA Champions League begins. So, if we do the math, it is clear that we are going to have non-stop football and that there will be no time to get lost if we don’t want to miss a good game.
Other major sporting events
We are just a stone’s throw away from the start of another big event: the Wimbledon tennis tournament. It will be on July 1 and will last until the 14th of the same month, so we will have two weeks full of good games. Of course, the highlight is to see if Alcaraz can once again become the man of the tournament. Given what we have seen, we should not be surprised if he rises again taking into account the great performance that he has shown at Roland Garros 2024.
And if you like tennis, there will be even more. Between August 26 and September 8 it will be the turn of the US Open with more matches and more excitement. Don’t you want tennis and prefer golf? In that case, between July 12 and 14 you will be able to see the LIV that will be held in Valderrama and then the British Open. And, if what you like is rugby, on the first Saturdays of July you will have the confrontation between the most prominent teams from the North and South of the world. You can also delight yourself, now in August, with The Rugby Championship.
Of course, from July 26 to August 11, all eyes will be on the Olympic Games, whose coverage from the Eurosport channels will be available on Movistar Plus+. Once in September, when we are already preparing to say goodbye to a summer full of sports, we will have the start of the NFL on September 5 and between September 21 and 22 the ACB Basketball Super Cup will be held.
