Netflix is on a roll. The streaming platform is sweeping its own Geeked Week 2024 by announcing many more premieres and revealing more trailers than we expected. The service is heading into a few months that are going to be very busy with highly anticipated returns and new releases that will land in theaters looking to make history.
Netflix’s special week was scheduled to end with a live event in which the streaming platform met with the press and its fans. It was for this event that they were reserving the best trailers and the most powerful news, as has happened on previous occasions. And we must admit that they have not disappointed, since we have more than enough material to make our Netflix subscription worth the investment we make in it.
The return of the best Netflix series
There are plenty of trailers out there, and we’re going to show you the most interesting ones so you’re up to date on what’s coming up. Of course, these include Squid Game Season 2, whose trailer shows us Lee Jung-jae back in full swing. The world’s deadliest games are back, setting everything on fire and at a pace that will likely make us, once again, unable to stop watching episode after episode until we complete it.
Wednesday, the series set in the Addams Family universe, has also released a teaser that gives us an idea of what’s coming, although the second season won’t premiere until 2025.
From One Piece, we have three big pieces of news. First, the addition of Joe Mangianello and Lera Abova to the cast, who will be Mr. 0 and Miss All-Sunday respectively. We’ve seen Mangianello in other villain roles and the truth is that he’s going to fit the character perfectly. It’s also clear that Chopper will be present and will keep his characteristic style, but he still needs to be shown in his entirety.

New productions to keep in mind
Netflix is still fully involved in animation based on famous video games. This is how we will find a new series based on Devil May Cry, the legendary Capcom franchise. Although it is not the first time that an animated adaptation of this game has been made, it is expected that, on this occasion, it will have the usual quality to which we are accustomed by the streaming service. Although with Onimusha they presented a new story, with Devil May Cry it seems that they will be more faithful to the original games.
Another game that will be reborn in the form of an animated series will be Splinter Cell, the classic Ubisoft franchise that has not released a video game for some time, but that could revive interest with this production. It will be called Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell: Deathwatch and will feature the famous Liev Schreiber giving voice to Sam Fisher himself, the protagonist of the games. In addition, we will also have the adaptation of Tomb Raider that had already been talked about and that now stars in a trailer to get to know this new animated version of Lara Croft better.
There will also be new films that have been present at the event, such as Don’t Move, which premieres on October 25 and is produced by the legendary Sam Raimi. The story is about a woman who is injected with a paralyzing substance by a stranger in a forest and has to try to escape while her body gradually stops responding. Terror guaranteed.
Also not to be missed is El eternauta, based on the Argentine comic of the same name, about a group of survivors of an apocalyptic snowfall that kills millions of people. After surviving this event, they will have to face an invisible alien force.
And, for tension, the curious What’s Inside, which also promises to turn the existence of its protagonists upside down once it is released on October 4.
