Times change and only those who know how to adapt to them manage to rise victorious. The world of automobiles is no stranger to this maxim, worth, for example, how practically all brands have gone on to develop electric cars. But not only the product is important, the way it is sold is also of great importance.
In recent years, some companies have tried to innovate in this regard, but there are three particularly striking cases that we want to review.
The first is the most recent, that of the Lotus Eletre, the company’s first SUV, an electric one available in three versions with 600 and 905 hp engines, and which in the best of cases has a range of up to 600 kilometers. However, none of that is the newest thing on offer.
The key is that it will go on sale through the Stripe platform, a technology company that allows users and companies to receive payments online, which will mean that anyone interested in the model can do so through a transfer, Apple Pay or Google Pay.
Another quite striking case is that of the Lynk & Co 01, because, although it can currently be bought in a traditional way, when it landed in the country it brought with it a quite interesting modality that it continues to offer today.
It is a subscription payment service, as if it were Netflix. With a monthly fee that is paid for as long as the user wants the car, without the need to purchase it. The twist is that at the same time it can be used as a shared car, so that the monthly payments are even lower and the vehicle is available only when it is really needed.
Finally, Toyota’s first electric, the Toyota bZ4x. In 2023 it can be purchased as standard, but at the time of its launch it was only available under a leasing format, with a formula of 48 months or 40,000 kilometers, which required an initial payment and monthly installments, or a month-to-month payment plus high, but no entrance.
