In its day, not everyone could afford a 4K Smart TV, but over time it has become a regular feature of all smart TVs, except for the smallest models. However, 8K is increasingly present in the Smart TV market. And the question is more than served, which is the best option?
Buying an 8K or 4K Smart TV has its differences, but what should be clear is what is more worth it right now. There are many factors that must be put on the table to make a decision. For this reason, we are going to see the reasons behind choosing a UHD television and not yet switching to TVs with an 8K resolution (7680 x 4320 pixels).
Why you have to wait with 8K TVs
It is clear that the image quality goes to another level. However, there are different reasons why it is not yet the best time to opt for this image resolution when launching a Smart TV.
First of all, even though there are more than four times more pixels than a 4K UHD TV, our vision will barely notice the difference from one resolution to another. If you stick close to the TV, you can probably appreciate this change more, although it is normal to be a few meters away from the TV. So it won’t be noticeable as much.
Another compelling reason why you should consider not buying an 8K TV is that there is hardly any content available. For example, streaming platforms increasingly offer movies or series in 4K, however, they do not go further. Even some streaming services still continue to offer their content in HD.
4K is not yet the most widespread standard. Not only on streaming platforms, but also on DTT itself, for example. Therefore, it gives food for thought. And all because it will take some time before different content can be enjoyed with double the pixels.
Not forgetting to mention that these televisions with this resolution are not accessible to everyone in terms of price. You can find models below 1,000 euros, although it is usual for these televisions to be well above this barrier.
Better a high-end 4K Smart TV
If you are looking for higher image quality, it is better to buy a high-end-premium UHD smart TV. You must keep in mind that the price of 8K Smart TVs is well above UHD televisions. So if your budget is high, it is better to buy a good 4K television with a large screen and different technologies that further improve the image quality. Just as there are a wide variety of brands that already offer this technology, so you can choose between the one you like the most or the one that fits your budget.
In addition, by buying a good UHD Smart TV, you will most likely even save money. More than anything because it is now more than common to see televisions with this screen resolution in stores. Now it is possible to find a TV with ultra high definition of about 50 inches from 300 euros. A price that a few years ago was unthinkable. For this reason, the moment 8K becomes popular and it is cheaper to buy a TV with this quality, then it will probably be the king of sales. But, for now, the TV market is 4K.
