These are the Movistar Plus+ rates from 8 euros per month

At the beginning of June, Movistar Plus+ launched a new rate for all customers of other operators. A plan that costs just 9.99 euros per month, instead of the 14 euros per month. However, these are not the only plans that can be contracted from its website.

Movistar Plus+’s OTT platform has up to 3 different rates. However, its cheapest plan goes completely unnoticed, as the blue operator’s television focuses on promoting the rest of its plans. Above all, right now it seeks to gain more users with the 9.99 euro per month rate that it launched just a month ago.

The three Movistar Plus+ rates

If you go directly to the Movistar website, in the TV Only section, you will only find the €9.99 per month rate. On the other hand, within the Movistar Plus+ OTT page you will find the ‘Rates’ section, where you can see the three plans that the platform currently has: €8, €9.99 and €14. But what are the differences?

Movistar Plus+ on TV

It should be remembered that, before relaunching its television, the operator opted for the OTT Movistar Plus+ Lite. It cost just 8 euros and any customer of another operator could sign up for it without any problems. However, since last year it was put aside, although the service is maintained for former customers. However, right now on its website you can find these three plans:

  • For 8 euros per month: a selection of sports and programmes is included; its original series and a total of 37 channels, including the general DTT channels. However, it is not specified which channels can be watched specifically by subscribing to this plan.
  • For 9.99 euros per month: content in maximum HD quality; a selection of the best sports (football, basketball, NBA, tennis, rugby, paddle tennis, NFL and golf); movies and all the platform’s original series; original programs and more than 80 channels.
  • For 14 euros per month: the same content is included as in the 9.99 euro per month plan, but with one difference: the maximum quality of the content is 4K UHD.

Within the conditions No further details are given about the €8 fee. However, the difference between the €9.99 and €14 per month services is explained: “The €9.99 and €14 per month services are the same in terms of content and channels, but they differ in the quality of transmission of certain content.” Therefore, the rest of the content and channels are the same for customers.

On the other hand, Movistar Plus+ rates include two simultaneous reproductions, meaning that content can be viewed from two devices at the same time. Even from the same or different locations. In addition to this, another feature of the plans of this OTT platform is that they have no permanence. Although, if the user cancels before the first 15 days from the moment of contracting, users will have to pay 50% of the fee for costs associated with the provision of content, plus the proportional part of the monthly fee.
