In January, Movistar increased its price, exactly as of January 15. Although, they have not been the only rates of the Spanish operator that have changed prices so far in 2024. There are other rates of the blue operator that are also more expensive for customers starting this year.
There are increases that go more unnoticed than others, while others are not even applied in the end. As happened at the beginning of the year with the possible increase from 14 to 17 euros per month for the Movistar Plus+ OTT. In this case, it has been applied. And not only in one, but in several Movistar second fiber rates.
It is time to find out what the changes are and, above all, how much the operator’s customers have to pay more per month. Although, in this case, it must be taken into account that price variations occur if the main service contracted from Movistar is cancelled.
Second fiber service is more expensive
Until February 16, 2024, second fiber rates cost you less when you wanted to unsubscribe from one of the miMovistar modalities: Movistar Unlimited x4, Movistar Unlimited x2, Movistar Unlimited or Movistar Max.
However, under the current conditions of the Spanish operator these prices have been modified, so it is an important detail that you must take into account when canceling these rates, in addition to the fact that the client will enjoy:
Customers with second 10 Mbps fiber:
- Fiber with 300 Mbps: 31.90 euros per month (previously it was 29.90 euros), for Free Zone.
300 Mbps fiber: 41.90 euros per month (previously it was 39.90 euros), for Regulated Zone.
Customers with the second 300 Mbps fiber:
- 300 Mbps fiber: 31.90 euros per month (previously 29.90 euros), for Free Zone.
300 Mbps fiber: 41.90 euros (previously 39.90 euros), for Regulated Area.
Users with the second 1 Gbps fiber:
- Fiber with 1 Gbps: 45.90 euros per month (previously 43.90 euros), for Free Zone.
- Fiber with 1 Gbps: 55.90 euros per month (before the change it was 53.90 euros), for Regulated Zone
Customers with additional Internet Radio:
- Internet radio: 31.90 euros per month (previously 29.90 euros), both for the free and regulated zones.
Therefore, you can see that the increase is up to 2 euros in these rates. As long as the client decides to unsubscribe from any of the different rates of the miMovistar service. If the main combined service remains contracted, then the price remains the same.
In addition, it must be taken into account that to have these rates you must have some Internet product from the operator on your landline and home: fiber rates, second residence/residence plus or Internet radio. And, if you do not want to pay more, then you must keep some of the previous rates in force at all times.
Regarding the provision of this service, the Spanish operator offers two types of access: fiber and radio. Fiber installation remains at 130 euros and a registration fee is still not paid. And regarding the speeds that can be enjoyed are:
- Fixed radio access: up to 20 Mbps.
- Fiber optic access: 10 Mbps, 300 Mbps or up to 1 Gbps.
