This is what the new Opel Astra looks like with the Irmscher treatment. Much sportier styling combined with a luxurious interior, albeit without power upgrades.

Gone are those admired GSi and OPC versions of the Opel Astra. The signature of the lightning orphaned this branch of products in the fifth generation of the Astra and, now under the orders of Stellantis, it seems that it will continue without knowing any heir. Luckily, Irmscher offers us an approach of what the Opel Astra could be like in its sportiest and most elegant version.

Irmscher is the official Opel preparer, a German specialist who has been working on the company’s products for decades. He is also doing it now on the more French Astra (it shares a platform, style and engines with the Peugeot 308), thus satisfying the demands of those who want more sportiness and cannot find it in the current range.

No cosmetic modification package would be complete without a good set of wheels. Irmscher offers us three different designs, including the 19-inch “Cosmo Star” and “High Star” models, as well as the slightly smaller “Turbo Star” model at 18 inches. All are finished in black and feature 225/45 tires.

The suspension has been lowered by 30 mm, allowing Irmscher’s Opel Astra to gain sporty stance. The tuner has upgraded the door sills with stainless steel sill plates, giving way to an interior with new floor mats and a choice of leather upholstery options for the seats, matching the steering wheel in some cases.

All of these visual and interior upgrades are available for the full range of new Opel Astra engines, although Irmscher has not made any power increases. The offer includes a 1.2 turbo with 110 and 130 hp, and a 1.5 diesel with 130 hp, as well as a 180 hp plug-in hybrid with up to 60 kilometers of autonomy.

The Teutonic preparer has not revealed the prices of the body kit and interior improvements, but has announced that they will be available very soon.
