Volvo has presented an update for the C40 Recharge and the XC40 Recharge that integrates some changes of style and a new version of access to the range.
Although Volvo’s family of pure electric cars is quite young, the Swedish manufacturer has been working to implement some improvements in a segment that changes and evolves almost daily. For this reason, Volvo has decided to update the C40 Recharge and the XC40 Recharge to integrate some changes at the design level and a new version of access to the range.
And we say that it is a young model range because both the electric Volvo XC40 and its coupé-style version, the Volvo C40 Recharge, have been on the market for a year in the case of the first, and nine months when we talk about the second vehicle. Even so, the company has decided to carry out an update that, although it is not very deep, does entail some important changes.
Volvo updates C4 Recharge and XC40 Recharge with new styling and access version
The Volvo C40 Recharge launches a new version of access to the range. The manufacturer has abandoned the variant with a rear engine and has developed one with engine and front-wheel drive. Although the specifications of this version have not been announced, Volvo says that its 69 kWh battery allows it to travel up to 434 kilometers without recharging.
If we analyze the offer of the Volvo XC40, we discover that the access version of the range is equipped with a front engine with 170 kW (231 hp) of power and 330 Nm of torque, a 69 kWh battery and an electric range of 425 kilometers. It seems confirmed that this will be the engine that equips the C40 Recharge for access to the range. The model, in addition, can charge its battery in just 32 minutes up to 80%.
In the case of the XC40 Recharge, the update carried out by Volvo has essentially focused on its design. The company has fitted a frameless grille, revised LED headlights with adaptive lighting technology, and a new bumper styled after the C40 Recharge. In addition, it now debuts a premium upholstery without leather, new paints and wheel designs.
Both updated models should reach the market during the fall of 2022 and would be accompanied by other improvements that include changes at the equipment level. No prices have been announced at the moment or a specific date for its arrival at Spanish dealers.
