This streaming platform has me hooked and I didn’t expect it

I have to admit that I have become hooked on a streaming platform that I never thought I would. But I tried, “piqué” with the 15 free days that they offer and in the end it has become one of my favorites. I’m going to tell you, but only on one condition: that you don’t tell my acquaintances.

I am not very clear if it was the large number of ads that jumped at me on Twitter, some crossed mail that came to me about it or that I have become silly with nostalgia. But a few days ago I got carried away by that free trial I’m talking about and I got into FlixOlé. Hallucinate, seriously, FlixOlé. It is not a joke. I’m going to tell you what happened and how I’m enjoying this so much.

I don’t like Spanish cinema

I will start with this important point. Because normally I read things like “streaming for those who love Spanish cinema” and I, to be honest, am not a fan. I have seen Spanish films, of course, enough to know that I am not enthusiastic. Lately I’ve seen more, because living in another country almost makes you want to listen to people speaking your language. But then you put on a Dani Rovira movie from Netflix and the nostalgia is gone. Saint’s hand.

For this reason, what I am here to say is that in my life I would have subscribed to this service of my own free will. I had some will, but I was won over by the fact that the test was free. What are we going to fool ourselves for, I thought “I’ll try it and cancel it later.” I had free time at the time and it seemed like a good plan to hang out. Well now, look, I even regret it, because I had to add another monthly expense to my “leisure budget” allotment. So that you understand me, I will tell you everything that I have found that I like and that justifies me the subscription.

italian soups

The first thing I did when I identified myself with the FlixOlé account was to take a look over it and realize something indefensible: there was so much dandruff that not even 20 kilos of Vidal Sassoon was going to remedy it. But beware, the dandruff is authentic. Now it’s called nostalgia, and nostalgia sells. Having seen the panorama already on the main page, I went to the search engine to see if there was something about dandruff that convinced me. And yes, there is good dandruff. For example, the best Italian sopapos that you will find in Spain: those of Bud Spencer and Terence Hill.

They were my childhood and since I lost the DVD collection I have been very upset, because it is not easy to find their films. But FlixOlé has an insane catalog of classics by these two heroes. It’s my favourite, …And if not, we get angry, because it’s that kind of movie that my children are going to watch ad nauseam. There are also other titles like Two Super Two, Odd-Even, Stronger Boys, Two Super Police in Miami or the legendary They Called Him Trinidad. The picture quality is perfect and the only thing I miss is that there is no subtitle track in every movie. And not only are those of the two together, but you can also see many of those who starred alone. Marvelous.

much male

In what parallel world do they live in FlixOlé so that one of their categories is called “Mucho macho?” Wow, it looks fantastic. I think it’s the ideal section for all the kids of the 80s and 90s who want to see their muscular heroes handing out chestnuts again. On the home page, Mucho Macho is below the category of José Luis Ozores. You go from Ozores to Mucho macho. We don’t know who hosts the interface, but their vision deserves a raise.

The point is that you can already imagine what movies are in Mucho macho. But it is as if a filter had been made thinking of going for all. Take a look at the screenshot that accompanies this paragraph and tell us which actor names you see: Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Mark Dacascos, Steven Seagal and Charles Bronson. But what a fantasy is this! And be careful, because they are not only his worst films (which too), but there are some essential ones, such as Terminator 2, Cornered, Danko: Red Heat or The Expendables. Furthermore, if you display all the titles in the category, you will find other legendary heroes, such as Chuck Norris or Michael Dudikoff. With these movies I already have days of fun.

prime dandruff

Little by little I am becoming more and more entangled in the networks of FlixOlé and in its eccentric catalogue. It specializes in Spanish cinema, but then the film that is in the top 5 is Rambo: Cornered. That makes me feel better, because it seems that I’m not alone. I do some searching because I want to see if I can find those guilty pleasures that accompany you throughout life. And I find one of them: Double Dragon. But what a bad movie. From those times when video games were adapted in a terrible way. But I see it because Mark Dacascos and Alyssa Milano come out sharing bread without rest before the actress became a world star for Charmed.

I’m still looking for. It jumps to me that the Porky’s saga is available. I don’t hide, the kids of my time saw them secretly and then we laughed in class. I start thinking about my fetish actors of the time and I come to Christopher Lambert. The bad news is that there is only one installment of The Immortals (the third), but the good news is that there are two of its basic classics: the crazy Bad Weapons and Check the Murderer. I’ve even seen that there’s a Trey Parker movie that I’m sure you’re familiar with, but it’s not Baseball. As I said, I have fun for a while.

Also some Spanish cinema

Posts to squeeze the subscription, the truth is that there are also Spanish films that are enjoyed. The national film catalog is enormous, almost infinite. This is the ideal platform for parents over 60 who want to have fun with streaming. You have the catalog of all the most mythical actors and I have even put on some films with which you like or not Spanish cinema, you will surely laugh. Those of Paco Martínez Soria, for example, are a living document of the oldest culture of our country. I would love for FlixOlé to invest a budget to put English subtitles on these movies, because they are something that you want to share with people outside. A few subtitle clues, a bit of marketing and good old Paco would go viral on TikTok.

You have Pajares and Esteso, Ozores, Martes y Trece, Parchís… I’m surprised that the classic Zipi y Zape movie that I saw about 500 times when I was a child isn’t there. I have also already seen Isi & Disi, love of the beast, because it is as if you were seeing an alternative dimension of Brothers by balls.

I will renew the subscription

This has been a shock that I did not expect to find. The content that this streaming platform has is massive. It plays around the idea of Spanish cinema, but then those responsible are charging it with cinema scurfy marvelous casposo that has nothing to do with the productions of Spain. And I’m not sure if that has happened now or if it comes from before, but I must say that I love it. There are also movie classics, such as Leaving Las Vegas or Apocalypse Now and series, including Blue Summer.

Everything is so disconnected and strange that it gives me a feeling of satisfaction. It is as if he were entering a video store again at the age of 10. If the movie thumbnails are changed to the VHS covers, that would be even better.
