When it comes to finding files that we need, we can find them in various content sources. However, you may not know that you can “sneak” into other people’s Google Drive and even download a copy of various types of content.
We are going to tell you how you can find files in other people’s Google Drives and thus be able to find all kinds of movies, books, academic notes, music and basically everything you can imagine and someone has publicly uploaded to the technology giant’s storage. .
Find other people’s files in Google Drive
The cloud storage system can be the perfect backup place where we house our most precious files, having a backup copy that will last and is not at risk of disappearing like if something happens to a hard drive.
However, you can also find files that other people have hosted and may be useful to you. Of course, these are files that have been uploaded openly, so that anyone can open them, don’t worry about someone finding your photos or private documents that you have on Google Drive.
To do this, you just have to use one of Google’s narrow search commands. Specifically, if you search using “site:drive.google.com XXX” you can find files that are in Google Drive and have been uploaded with public permissions by other users.
Books, music, movies and much more
As an example, a search we have carried out to see if one of the most famous books in history is available. Searching “site:drive.google.com little prince«, we can find several results with Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s star book. Our most international book? Type “site:drive.google.com quixote” and read the work of Cervantes.
Also people often host music. By searching for “site:drive.google.com michael jackson” we can find several of the King of Pop’s greatest hits, such as We are the World, Smooth Criminal, Beat it or even files that supposedly include the complete discography.
If you try a movie term, you may even be able to visualize a movie or series. In the video that we have left you above you can see the example of the search “site:drive.google.com la casa de papel” and how it returns a complete result in which there are even complete folders with one of the Spanish series that more have succeeded on Netflix.
You can also search for extensions and see what you find as a surprise with that type of file. Try PDF, MP4, MP3, etc. There is a certain risk and that is that, although theoretically Google analyzes the files that are uploaded to Google Drive so that they are not malicious, you always take a bit of risk when downloading files from strangers.
In turn, this way of finding the files if you leave them in public serves as a lesson for you to know the importance of viewing permissions for yours. If you have uploaded one in public, it will not be necessary for them to know the specific link to that file hosted in the cloud to find it. You will only need something as simple as the Google search engine.
