The Kodi team wanted to start the year by giving good news to all users of the program and has issued a new version of Nexus that you can now download. In it, among other things, you will find a wide series of improvements. It is also the last update to be released.
There are many users who are already using the Omega version of Kodi in its Pre-release edition, but the bulk of the community continues with the stable Nexus version. Because of this, those responsible for the program wanted to update it and show that they have not forgotten those who are supporting this edition of the software. With update 20.3 come, above all, improvements to previously detected problems.
Improvements to the main skin
Since Kodi v17, users who use this program do so with Estuary as the main skin and, taking into account the time it has been available, it is logical that problems appear that must be fixed. This is precisely what Kodi has done in this update, in which, for example, it has changed the position of some of the categories that appear on the main page.
Along the same lines, the position of other interface elements has also changed, while other minor problems have been solved. The intention is that the interface can work better and provide all users with superior performance in line with what is expected from a stable version of Kodi that has been providing good impressions for a long time.
Other changes and solutions
The update brings improvements to many other features of the system. Thus, various problems that had appeared in Kodi’s Retroplayer function have been solved. One of the most important fixes occurs in Android, where there will be no more surprises when we find that the controls are not correctly assigned to the control ports.
The problem whereby it was not possible to play DVDs on some units has also been eliminated, which had already generated quite a lot of comments among the community. And the improvements do not end there, since a memory problem in the context menus, the error that was registered in the image cache and the infinite loop that sometimes occurred with the CPluginFile file have been eliminated.
Users who use Kodi with the intention of playing music files will be pleased to know that the music library is now capable of automatically recovering if cleaning has previously been interrupted. Television playback no longer suffers from the problem whereby some subtitles were not displayed when tuning to channels, and speaking of UPNP, the playback of external sources with ftp and http has been repaired.
There are also many other improvements of greater or lesser importance that help make the Kodi user experience more satisfactory and ensure that you will enjoy the best performance. Now, how to update? You can do it from the software itself. Most likely, the update will reach your program without you having to worry about anything, although it could take time based on different factors. In any case, if you want to have the new version as soon as possible, the best thing you can do is go to the Kodi website and get the file manually.
Those who will have to wait the most, as is often the case, will be Android users, who always tend to be left behind in receiving new versions of Kodi on their devices. But, as we indicated, you have the file on the web, so there is not much of a problem. As Kodi has already mentioned, this will be the last Nexus update before making the final jump to Kodi Omega on a date not yet determined.
