It is not surprising considering that it is a work of Jump Comics, one of the brands responsible for some of the most important manga in history. His anime accumulates reproductions in an unstoppable way, both in the original version in Japanese and in the one dubbed into Spanish. Availability
The streaming platform that Chainsaw Man has in Spain is Crunchyroll, the specialized anime service that you surely already know and that offers content aimed at otakus around the world. Although Chainsaw Man is on Netflix in other countries, as in Japan, in Spain the only way to enjoy it is as we have just indicated. At the same time, you should know that you are going to need a Premium subscription to be able to see it, both in Japanese and in Spanish.
The level of popularity that Chainsaw Man has is enormous and it is understandable that it is one of the series that is only available to Premium plan subscribers. At least, if you are not a user, you have the opportunity to use the 14-day free trial to be able to view the entire series in that period of time. Then you can decide whether or not to renew depending on what interests you. Consider that the first season of Chainsaw Man has 12 episodes of about 20 minutes each, so watching it in one go or in two sessions is more than possible. Crunchyroll makes it very easy for you.
What is it about?
The formula that the script chooses uses some clear influences from other Jump anime, but gives it such a special style that Chainsaw Man ends up being irresistible. We told you that the protagonist is called Denji. What we haven’t told you yet are two things. The first: that the boy, whose life previously consisted of working to try to pay off his father’s debts to the yakuza, makes a pact with a demon dog. The second: that because of it, his body changes and he gains the ability to transform parts of his body into chainsaws. Yes, on chainsaws. He imagines a chainsaw coming out of his arms. So far, more or less normal. But what if he also has one on his head? That’s where things get a little crazier!
We don’t want to go too deep into the story of Chainsaw Man because, for 12 episodes it has, it would be too much spoiler. What we are going to tell you is this: the world in which the protagonist lives has a large number of demons, there are also people who are in charge of hunting them and Denji has chainsaws at large. Surely you can tie the dots yourself. However, there is much more to hunting demons and giving them hair with great bloodbaths.
For example, the repertoire of secondary characters that surround Denji is priceless. Their fame is such that it is even common to see fans in Japan cosplaying these characters in their day to day when they go to the amusement park or shopping. Makima, for example, has enormous importance and a lot of charisma, while other characters like Aki Hayakawa or Asa Mitaka also stand out, the latter of great relevance to the story as you will come to know.
Dubbed or original version?
This is a question that is common to ask when you are going to start watching Chainsaw Man. Although it is becoming more and more common, the truth is that we are not so used to an anime receiving its dubbing into Spanish so quickly. That complicates the decision of how to view it. However, we are going to tell you quickly so that it is clear to you: dubbing is essential. The work that the voice team has done at the helm of the series gives it a great personality and makes the episodes hilarious.

It would be impossible to mention all the voices that can be heard in the dubbing, because there are a few, but we will tell you that the professionals who participate include: Joel Gómez Jiménez (Denji), Sara Iglesias (Makima), Salvi Garrido (Aki Hayakawa) , María Luisa Marciel (Power) or Gracia Comitre (Pochita), among others. Many other voice actors who do a first class job also participate. This is one of those animes in which it is perfectly appreciated how this type of work has matured in recent years, which is highly appreciated. The dubbing not only helps because of the good voices chosen, but also because of the strength, humor and feeling that is put into each scene.

Why is it a must see anime?
We do not want to end this article without telling you some additional things about Chainsaw Man that will help you see more easily what this anime represents. To begin, keep in mind that we are talking about a series that has a first season, but whose manga continues to be published. In the first episodes, the first 70 chapters of the manga are covered, so if you are left wanting more at the end of the series, you only have to resort to the paper version to continue with the story (at least until the second one arrives). season).
We can also tell you to pay attention to the opening and endings, because they have some songs that don’t go unnoticed, especially the one at the beginning of the episodes. This opening song is the theme “Kick Back” by the renowned Kenshi Yonezu, one of the most fashionable musicians in Japan who already has a presence in many of the great anime of recent years. On the other hand, and although we have recommended the version with dubbing, do not miss out on the opportunity of a second viewing in Japanese, because it includes the voices of renowned professionals such as Kikunosuke Toya, Tomori Kusunoki, Kenjiro Tsuda or Shogo Sakata, among many others. . It’s worth watching twice to appreciate the differences.
And if you still have doubts that you are facing one of the shonen of the moment, take note of some of the derivative projects that have already been carried out or are in development, such as a play that can be seen in 2023 at Japan or a multitude of collaborative events in restaurants and shops. The chainsaw boy is in fashion!
