Turn off roaming in four steps

Deactivating roaming is the best option we can choose so that our smartphone does not use of the internet connection in the background without our consent. In the case of O2, it is very simple activate this limitation on our smartphone: to do this, the first thing we must do is download the Mi O2 application and log in with our credentials.

Once we have accessed, we must select our telephone line and click on the “Configure your line” button which is located just below the information related to our consumption. When we access this menu, the first option we have before us is Roaming. We will have to access it and we will have two options:

  • Data and MMS restriction outside Spain
  • Restriction of calls and SMS outside Spain

The main thing is that let’s deactivate both the data such as MMS. Since many apps make use of our internet connection in the background and, without data account, this can add a significant charge to our final bill unexpectedly. However, we can also disable second option and use messaging applications, such as WhatsApp, to make the calls we need when we have a connection to a WiFi network.

In addition to disable roaming Through the application, it is also important to know that we can deactivate this possibility directly from our smartphone. In this way, we will surely minimize any possibility that, as a result of a possible error in the operation of the app, a timely connection that generates a cost for us.

Depending on the operating system we are working with, the path to access this function may be different. However, in most cases it will be found within the settings menu. settings of our smartphone, in the “Mobile data” options. Once there, we will have to look for the “Data roaming” option and deactivate it.

If we disable this option bothor from the O2 app As with the options on our smartphone, we will be able to not worry about any use we make in other countries, since we will not be able to access the network if we do not have a WiFi connection within our reach.
