The FIFA+ service, a streaming platform dedicated to football in different disciplines, intends to go through a growth process that takes it to a higher level. Already available in Spain, the service is looking for a million-dollar investment to help them achieve the objectives they have set to succeed in the streaming sector.
It is possible that you have never entered FIFA+ or that you do not even know about its existence, no matter how much you like the world of football. Although the platform was launched in Spain some time ago, it has never had the impact that could be expected. That, however, could change if the plans that the team in charge of the service has come to fruition successfully.

Until now, the FIFA+ service’s main selling point has been its live broadcast of the FIFA Club World Cup matches, but even with the participation of the world’s best teams, the service’s appeal has not been very high. Beyond very specific matches in this competition, the platform’s appeal has been moderate.
That could perhaps change if FIFA+ succeeds in its attempt to secure a $2 billion investment. Until now, FIFA’s strategy with the streaming platform had been different, as they have spent several months looking for a valuable partner that would allow them to have a greater presence in the market. But in view of the lack of a strong agreement, since it seems that the best offer came from Apple and was not exactly large, they have preferred to change their strategy. And that means going back to focusing on their platform independently.
The goal is very attractive
Since FIFA+ debuted in 2022, it has tried to become the home of football worldwide. To do this, from the beginning, it promised that it would offer users more than 40,000 live matches per year, as well as original productions and other types of content. They have always highlighted the interest they have in being the place where you can watch all types of world league matches live, as well as the clashes of the different world teams.
But, of course, they do this approach not only thinking about countries where football is law, but also covering markets in which this sport is not usually so popular. Hence, among its many contents, there are matches from international leagues that are not well known among European fans. That, at the same time, is something that has always worked against it, since it would be an interesting complement alongside more attractive content, but not occupying a leading role.
The future of FIFA+ could be very different if it gets the 2 billion dollars it is looking for. With that budget it could, perhaps, be able to broadcast live matches of greater appeal. Who knows if there would be an option for us to watch some LaLiga matches or other types of competitions that, without a doubt, will make viewers enter the platform without thinking twice. For now, everything is a guess. Part of the investment should clearly also be aimed at improving the service itself, which offers a structure that is too chaotic and in which it is really difficult to navigate between its thousands of summaries, matches and other elements related to football.
FIFA has reportedly already begun a process of working together with the Swiss investment bank UBS and fundraising could begin in July. Investors from the Middle East and the United States are expected to be interested and could take a stake in the platform, although, it is said, on a small scale.
For now, if you’ve never accessed FIFA+, it wouldn’t be a bad idea to do so. Among other content, you can find complete recordings of legendary matches. It is not easy to find them, but, for example, you have FIFA World Cup matches from different classic editions, such as the unforgettable one that was played in 1990.
