The era of Smart TVs is led by several television operating systems, but Google TV is undoubtedly one of the most prominent. Many users have a smart TV with this software or have at least purchased a Chromecast with Google TV. Among its many advantages, the more than 130 free channels with advertising (FAST) that it includes in its catalogue stand out.
FAST channels are those television channels that do not cost money. In exchange, you have to watch ads. Its acronym comes from English and means free ad-supported streaming television. They differ from conventional DTT channels that are offered through the Internet, in streaming.
When we talk about this type of channels, we usually refer to platforms like Pluto TV or Tivify. There is also a wide catalog available in the Smart TV operating systems. In the case of Google TV, they joined this initiative of free channels with advertising last year in November. Recently, they have reached 132 channels. Some of them are in Spanish, although most are English speaking.
The 10 new Google TV channels
As part of a June 2024 update, Google TV has recently rolled out 10 new FAST channels. These are as follows:

- ION+
- Johnny Carson TV
- Telemundo News Now
- Property & Reno
- Real Disaster Channel
- Supermarket Sweep
- The FBI Files
- World’s Wildest Police Videos
- Yahoo Finance
The FAST channels that were previously on Google TV
These dozen channels join others that Alphabet have been releasing in their television software over the last few months. In March, Google TV added a bundle of 8 channels:

- Court TV Legendary Trials
- FilmRise Horror
- FilmRise True Crime
- Grit Xtra
- Heartland
- Laff More
Before that, there had been no FAST updates beyond those that came with the launch of Google TV in November. In its first batch, the number of free ad-supported channels that were released was much higher:
